Coverage and limitations

Know exactly what you are evaluating.

CISGuard assesses security configuration against supported CIS benchmarks. Configuration evidence can support a wider compliance programme; it does not establish complete compliance with a standard or law.

Published benchmark catalogue

The current website catalogue lists 22 benchmarks and 3,933 checks. Coverage varies by technology, version and assessment profile. Confirm the exact checks, privileges and manual steps for your target environment during technical validation.

Three native mapping families

The published native mappings are NIST SP 800-53, ISO 27001 and SOC 2. A mapped configuration check is supporting evidence for a requirement, not proof that every part of that requirement is satisfied.

Other regulatory programmes

References to NCA ECC, SAMA, UAE requirements, HIPAA, GDPR, PCI DSS and similar programmes describe potential uses of configuration evidence. Confirm applicable requirements and any crosswalk with your reviewer. These references do not imply native end-to-end automation or certification.

Deployment and evidence validation

Discuss on-premises, sovereign or air-gapped deployment against your architecture. Agree network dependencies, update transfer, licensing, retention, access controls, manual checks and evidence export requirements before rollout.

Bring a representative test scope

A useful evaluation defines target systems, benchmark versions, a small set of representative checks and the evidence your reviewer expects. Ask to see the result, remediation workflow and re-test record for that scope.
